Message in a Bottle

On the weekend, I again watched a DVD I own called Message in a Bottle. It tanked at the Box Office for reasons I do not fully understand. I have read the novel by Nicholas Sparks on which the movie was based and found imho - purely from a writing perspective, the film script to be better than the book in many instances. I don't know why this story moves me so much - I have never lost anybody really close to me so go figure... It just reminds me of the Korean word: Han - I first came across this word in an episode of the tv series, The West Wing. There is no literal English translation, but loosely translated, it means: 'A sadness. A sadness so deep no tears will come. Yet still ... there is hope.' The lesson I take from this is that time does not heal. Love heals. I do wonder at the ability of the human heart to recover from loss and heal through love. I do not understand that process. It is both aweing and mysterious - much I suppose like its Author.
